My journey with music began at the age of five, when I was introduced to the piano. A defining moment came during my high school years, when studying with a professional children’s music teacher transformed my understanding of the beauty and impact of music for young learners.

Through further study and research, I was introduced to Orff-based music education and its powerful role in child development. This approach supports children in developing essential skills such as communication, creativity, confidence, and social interaction, all through engaging and playful musical experiences.

After graduating from university in 2011, I worked as a music and Orff teacher in a variety of schools and music institutes. This experience allowed me to deepen my knowledge of piano teaching and develop strong expertise in preparing students for ABRSM examinations.

Through focused study and practice in Orff-based music education, my main field of interest, I worked with groups of children of different ages and abilities, preparing them to perform in concerts and public events. These experiences played a significant role in strengthening my confidence and commitment to my professional path.

In addition, my work with international organisations and training programmes, including Orff UK, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and various masterclasses worldwide, helped me develop strong collaboration and communication skills through working alongside music educators from diverse backgrounds.

My research into improvisation in music education has further shaped my teaching approach, highlighting how creative exploration can encourage children to discover their musical potential and significantly enhance their creativity and self-expression.

My purpose is to create a welcoming home of creativity for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in the Stockport area. I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where students can explore music with confidence and joy.

I strongly believe that everyone deserves a life enriched by music. This belief is what led me to become a piano teacher. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student seeking guidance, my goal is to support your musical journey and help you grow as a confident, expressive musician.

Manchester Kids Music offers one-to-one piano lessons for students aged 8 and above, available in person or online. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning style, whether they are beginners or more advanced players.

If you are unsure which level is most suitable, I also offer placement assessments to ensure each student is guided appropriately from the start.
